Butler Greenwood was established in the 1790's, and members of the original family continue to live in and love the place today. The antebellum main house is filled with priceless antiques, including the area's finest original Victorian formal parlor, and is surrounded by 19th-century gardens and hundreds of moss-draped live oak trees. Tours of the antebellum main house are available.

Open by appointment only. Owner Mary Thompson gives delightful tours of her ancestral home. Catalpa is filled with exceptional antiques; rosewood Mallard parlor pieces, Sevres whale-oil lamp, crystal cranberry champagne glasses, antique silver, china and porcelain, but also brims over with warm and hospitality from gracious hostess.

Surrounded by spacious galleries, this house was built on a Spanish land grant. It is one of the few remaining complete antebellum plantation complexes, and its dependencies include a law office/school house, milk house, kitchen, smoke house, old slave quarters, barns and other structures that complete a working plantation.  The Cottage offers plantation tours and overnight lidging.

Greenwood Plantation, one of the Barrow dynasty of homes in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, was originally built in 1830 by William Ruffin Barrow. In the 1830's, Greenwood, operating as a 3000 acre cotton plantation, provided the Barrow's with a comfortable living.

Rosedown Plantation, encompassing 374 acres in St. Francisville, is one of the most intact, documented examples of a domestic plantation complex in the South. It embodies the lifestyle of the antebellum South's wealthiest planters in a way very few other surviving properties can.
