Afton Villa Gardens
Blossoms Among the Ruins---When Afton Villa Plantation burned to the ground in 1963, nothing much remained but the gardens. Genevieve and Morrell Trimble saw the 250 acres of rubble and overgrown landscape, fell in love with it, and in 1972, embarked on their huge 20-year project to restore the lost gardens.Afton Villa is open from March 1 - June 30 and October 1 - November 30th of each year.

Angola - Louisiana State Penitentiary Museum
Museum showcases the history of Angola Prison, Louisiana's State Penitentiary, the nation's largest maximum-security facility. The prison was built on the grounds of an old plantation, and still operates a working farm. The museum includes displays of guard equipment, confiscated contraband items from prisoners, and written accounts from guards and prisoners alike.

Annual Audubon Pilgrimage, held the third weekend in March, celebrates a southern spring in St. Francisville. West Feliciana Historical Society has thrown open the doors of significant historic structures to commemorate artist-naturalist John James Audubon’s stay.
Audubon State Historic Site (Oakley House)
Highlights; West Indies plantation home, hands-on museum, trails, herb gardens, slave quarters, barn with animals and out-buildings, such as a kitchen. To do: Guided plantation tour, visit out-buildings & barn, hiking & birding trails, photograph scenic views, picnic and talk with "Gus," the live turkey which roams the grounds. Audubon State Historic Site is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Audubon State Historic Site Loop
This easy 29-mile loop follows small country roads that go by The Myrtles Plantation, Butler Greenwood Plantation, the historic Locust Grove Cemetery and the Audubon State Historic Site.

Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge
Currently 9,623 acres Wildlife Refuge open to hiking, canoeing, birding, photography, and hunting and fishing. A permit avalible from the West Feliciana Parish Tourist Commission, $15 money order, is needed for hunting and fishing.

Cottage Plantation B&B
Surrounded by spacious galleries, this house was built on a Spanish land grant. It is one of the few remaining complete antebellum plantation complexes, and its dependencies include a law office/school house, milk house, kitchen, smoke house, old slave quarters, barns and other structures that complete a working plantation. The Cottage offers plantation tours (Saturday & Sunday only) and overnight lodging.

Grace Episcopal Church
An Historic structure and congregation with unusual Civil War ties.
. Owner Susan Davis began this cottage industry using her grandmother’s collection of buttons and fashioning them into beautiful pieces of jewelry. The shop is located in an old bank building and the “button museum” is housed in the building’s old vault. Many other items are offered and most reflect a local or Louisiana flair.
Greenwood Plantation, one of the Barrow dynasty of homes in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, was originally built in 1830 by William Ruffin Barrow. In the 1830's, Greenwood, operating as a 3000 acre cotton plantation, provided the Barrow's with a comfortable living.Dramatic setting for receptions.
Greenwood Plantation Turnaround
