ST. FRANCISVILLE - Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site

Civil War Encampment: February 11-12, 2012, 9 am-5 pm.  During the Civil War Union Soldiers occupied the grounds at Rosedown.  They also ravaged the house for supplies and luxuries.  On this weekend, the 7^th Louisiana will set up camp at Rosedown.  They will perform drills, cook, play music, sew, etc.  The public will have the opportunity to observe what a soldier’s life was like on an occupied plantation during the war.  Visitors will also see how the Turnbull-Bowman family endured the period of Union occupation on their plantation.
